Healthcare Takes Flight

Vision
To be the world's leading medical assistance platform, trusted by top airlines worldwide to ensure every flight is equipped to respond quickly and confidently to in-flight medical emergencies.

Mission
We help airlines respond to in-flight medical emergencies by connecting them with trusted medical professionals, ensuring timely care, fewer diversions, and smoother operations.
Winning in Innovation
SkyClin was born within a structured innovation ecosystem in 2016, when Royal Jordanian Airlines launched its internal Innovation Lab, a program designed to empower employees to propose innovative solutions to challenges facing the aviation industry. The program welcomed ideas from across the airline, offering selected projects the opportunity to be incubated and tested within the airline, and eventually spun off into independent ventures.
At the time, SkyClin’s founder, Mohammad Al-Haj Hassan, was part of Royal Jordanian’s operations team, responsible for managing the airline’s flight schedule and minimizing disruptions. His role gave him firsthand insight into the complexities of airline operations, particularly the costly and often avoidable diversions caused by in-flight medical emergencies. These diversions, often referred to as “mercy landings”, were not only expensive but also logistically disruptive, typically triggered by uncertainty and a lack of proper medical support on board. These operational realities, paired with the opportunity presented by the Innovation Lab, laid the groundwork for SkyClin.

2015: Royal Jordanian Airlines Launched the Innovation Lab
2016: SkyClin was presented to the Innovation Lab Committee and approved
2017: SkyClin launched its pilot Doctor on Board program within Royal Jordanian
2020: Pause to the program due to the pandemic
2025: Relaunched, with a revamped model and enhanced benefits.
A Flight That Sparked the Aspiration

During the airline-wide internal awareness campaign for the Innovation Lab, Mohammad joined a flight crew on a long-haul flight. By coincidence, one of the airline's own doctors was among the passengers. Mohammad noted how reassuring it was to have a qualified medical professional on board - someone the crew already knew and could count on in an emergency. That flight proved to be a turning point, when a passenger began experiencing severe medical complications, the crew did not make a general announcement for medical assistance, as typically required by standard operating procedures. Instead, they discreetly approached the onboard doctor, who immediately stepped in to help. It was in that moment the idea for SkyClin took shape: What if every flight crew knew in advance which certified doctors were already onboard? What if readiness didn't have to depend on chance? What began as a passing thought soon evolved into a structured program, refined step by step, idea after idea, until it became the model SkyClin is today.

Where Are We Heading?
After a successful pilot launch and a pause following the pandemic, SkyClin is now ready for takeoff once again. We've relaunched with a sharper model, a broader vision, and a growing network of dedicated medical professionals ready to make a difference at 30,000 feet and upwards.
As we expand, we invite MDs from all specialties to join us in shaping the future of in-flight care. This is just the beginning. We are working to make pre-identified medical presence a global industry standard to ensure higher levels of safety, readiness, and peace of mind for every airline and every passenger. So buckle up and join us on our journey.
